Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of www.maltahands.com ("Malta Hands", "the platform"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Malta Hands is

Malta Hands is a directory that lets Providers advertise local services in Malta and lets Customers discover and contact them. Malta Hands is not a party to any agreement between a Customer and a Provider, does not employ or vet Providers' qualifications or licences, and does not process payments for services arranged through the platform. Providers and Customers are solely responsible for the arrangements they make with each other.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must sign in with a Google account to use Malta Hands; we do not offer separate password-based registration.
• When you first sign in, you choose to register as a Customer or a Provider. This choice is fixed for the account in the current version of the platform.
• You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account, and for keeping your Google account secure.

3. Providers

• New Provider accounts and advertisements are reviewed before becoming publicly visible. We may decline or later block a Provider or an advertisement at our discretion, including for the reasons in section 5.
• You must describe your services accurately and keep your listing (services offered, cities served, price indication, contact details) up to date.
• The current release offers each advertisement free exposure for a limited period. We may introduce paid exposure options in the future; any such change will be communicated before it applies to you.

4. Customers

• Contact details for a Provider are only shown after you sign in and choose to reveal them for a specific advertisement. Use that information for genuine enquiries about the advertised service.
• You may leave a review or respond to a Provider only in connection with an advertisement whose contact details you have genuinely accessed.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, illegal, or scam listings, reviews, or reports;
• Use the platform to advertise or seek illegal services;
• Scrape, harvest, or misuse contact details or other users' data obtained through the platform;
• Attempt to bypass account roles, moderation, or access controls;
• Impersonate another person or business.

Any user can report an advertisement they believe is a scam, illegal, poor-quality, or otherwise problematic. We review reports and may block advertisements or Provider accounts as a result.

6. Reviews

Reviews must reflect a genuine interaction with the Provider. We may remove a review that violates these Terms; removal is recorded internally for accountability. Providers may post one public response per review they receive.

7. Content ownership

You retain ownership of the text and images you submit (advertisement content, reviews, responses), but you grant Malta Hands a licence to display them on the platform and in search results for as long as your content remains published.

8. Disclaimers

Malta Hands is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the accuracy of listings, the availability of the platform, or the quality, safety, or legality of services arranged between Customers and Providers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Malta Hands is not liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising from interactions or agreements between Customers and Providers.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account, or block an advertisement, if these Terms are violated or if we reasonably believe the account poses a risk to other users or to the platform. You may stop using the platform at any time.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves and will update the "last updated" date above when we do.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malta.
